At Klippensteins, we give careful thought before articling interview week to the application materials we have received. On the basis of that review and to keep the articling process manageable for a small firm, we offer interviews to only between one and four applicants.
We will call students before the articling scheduling date if we intend to invite them to an interview.
We schedule interviews early in interviewing week and we will make an offer at 5:00 pm on Wednesday. The offer is open for the period in the Law Society guidelines, but we encourage the candidate to respond as soon as possible, so that we can make a follow up offer to another candidate if appropriate.
We suggest that application materials include a covering letter, a resume, transcripts, names of references (with telephone numbers if possible) and reference letters. Samples of writing demonstrating legal analysis and argument, such as a recent paper, are helpful.
